Got a bare wall?

In the November 2016 edition of Real Living they explored some awesome ideas for dressing up a bare wall with some vibrant prints from Hunting for George.

Rather than you spending time hunting around for these, I've compiled some of the prints they've used in this feature as well as some cool ones I found on my web journey. Remember there is no rhyme or reason to hanging prints in this way, no matter the size or colour, you can be as creative as you like! My only tip would be to try and keep the spacing between the frames even (i.e 5cm between each).

You're free to mix up the colours of the frames between timber, white, black, silver, gold etc. so long there is a general theme building through the collection. The ones from the Real Living Issue below are building a tropical, beachy theme (think Byron Bay Australia).

Everything You Need to Know About Polished Concrete

Everything You Need to Know About Polished Concrete

We decided to do polished concrete down in our kitchen for a few reasons. Firstly it is incredibly easy to maintain and secondly as the area gets a lot of natural sunlight, concrete will help to retain the heat in the house in winter and keep the area cool in summer.

By the time you pay for materials and labour the outlay is roughly the same. The finished product, however, is in my opinion, one hundred times more stunning than any tile you could possibly lay! By the time you pay for materials and labour the outlay is roughly the same. Progress Update

Progress Update

I thought, given the time, it would be timely to kick things off by giving you a visual update off the house. We have been hard at work trying to get the house through to lock-up stage, and it pleases me to say we are almost there! This has been no mean feat - with a month of rain days and our wonderful carpenter jet-setting in the states, we have had more than a few delays, but once progress starts happening on the house again I forget it all!

Mother's Day Ideas from Temple & Webster

Mother's Day Ideas from Temple & Webster

Every year we take a moment to celebrate the women who gave us life and shaped us to be the people we are today - I know for me, my Mum is my rock, my confidant, that annoying woman who rings at awkward times to discuss an event in two weeks time, my values, my friend and my comforter. The person I am today is because of the way my Mum raised me with equal portions of love and hard arse biatch.

I have got seven awesome gift ideas for your Mum, they are all under $150 and will get to you before Sunday (pending when you order of course).

5 Tips for the D.I.Y Bathroom Reno

When we discovered that our only bathroom was leaking, and leaking bad we decided it was time for the whole room to go...we asked eight plumbers and bathroom renovators to come and give us a quote. Two of them showed up. One of them actually followed up with a quote. For $35 000. So we cleared our schedules for a few weeks and hopped to it ourselves.

I recently had the opportunity to chat to mother and daughter duo from Hawkes Bay, New Zealand who are the creative masterminds behind Essence of Kmart. MC and Kat are both passionate about interior design and styling and decided to start recording their efforts for Instagram and just see how it went. 1300 followers in a few short months later, two things are clear - that people love Kmart home decor and Kat and MC have a real eye for styling and design.

How To Lay Turf Like A Boss!

How To Lay Turf Like A Boss!

Looking at our blank canvas, we figured the most affordable, low maintenance and quick approach would be to lay down some turf and turn the brown to green! The best part about it, the whole backyard renovation cost us $1500 (including the new chicken coop) and it’s practically unrecognisable!
