Style & Decorate
Every year we take a moment to celebrate the women who gave us life and shaped us to be the people we are today - I know for me, my Mum is my rock, my confidant, that annoying woman who rings at awkward times to discuss an event in two weeks time, my values, my friend and my comforter. The person I am today is because of the way my Mum raised me with equal portions of love and hard arse biatch.
I have got seven awesome gift ideas for your Mum, they are all under $150 and will get to you before Sunday (pending when you order of course).
I have recently become obsessed with Hunting for George – a gorgeous boutique home décor site that literally serves every need for your home at a really reasonable price! They stock some of their own products but mainly support more boutique designers and makers from both Australia and internationally.
I recently had the opportunity to chat to mother and daughter duo from Hawkes Bay, New Zealand who are the creative masterminds behind Essence of Kmart. MC and Kat are both passionate about interior design and styling and decided to start recording their efforts for Instagram and just see how it went. 1300 followers in a few short months later, two things are clear - that people love Kmart home decor and Kat and MC have a real eye for styling and design.
Your kitchen is the most important room in the house. It is the biggest selling point if you ever put your house on the market and it is the focal point of the house. It is where family dinners take place, or the sacred wine and cheese night with the girls or where Christmas dinner is prepared. It is the one room in the entire house you don't want to get wrong!
A gorgeous alternate to the traditional Christmas Tree, and can be achieved on a serious budget! Simply head down to your local park and find a fallen tree branch. For a little more glamour, you can spray the tree branch with a metallic paint. This tree paired with the simple butchers paper and ribbon wrapping makes for the perfect minimalist Christmas decor (it might even encourage you to not go overboard with the uneccessary purchasing).
